Two fuel dealers from Karoi have passed away. They were fighting for their lives at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital after suffering severe injuries in a fuel explosion that occurred in a residence on Saturday.
Cliff Mwanza, 30, and Sibangeni Macheza, 30, have been identified as the dead individuals.
After the trio became trapped in a house that was completely destroyed by fire due to the explosion in the high-density district of Chikangwe, their comrade Tafadzwa Zanga (30) passed away on Sunday.
“I confirm Cliff Mwanza and Sibangeni Macheza’s (30) deaths from severe burning wounds they received from a fuel explosion in Karoi on Saturday,” Assistant Inspector Aggray Jaure, deputy spokesman for Mashonaland West province police, stated Wednesday.
The three proceeded to a residence in Chikangwe, according to the police, with the idea of filling up their container from one of the two rooms they utilized for fuel storage.
The home reportedly caught fire after one of the gasoline canisters burst.
They suffered severe burns before being saved.
