According to reports, a 28-year-old student at Midlands State University (MSU) killed himself last Saturday. Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko stated yesterday, “Police confirm investigating a suspected suicide case involving a 28-year-old who died after hanging himself at his residence in Senga township, Gweru.”
Mahoko stated that coworkers found Roy Much’s body hanging from a window burglar bar on May 11 at approximately 4:30 PM, with a black rope around his neck.
Police are also looking into two different fire accidents that happened in Mvuma and Mberengwa, respectively, and claimed the lives of a 21-year-old male and a seven-month-old baby. MSU
On May 12, in Mberengwa, an unidentified person set fire to the hut containing the sleeping quarters of Isaac Matsheza, 71, and his son Tapiwa, 21. Matsheza attempted, but was unable, to warn his inebriated son. Matsheza is still being treated at Gwanda Hospital after suffering burns.
