Zimbabwean Man Jailed for Three Lifetimes and 226 Years for Grisly Crimes

A Hwange educator has been sentenced to eight  months in prison for his involvement in an exam fraud case.Mkululi Moyo was subsequently sentenced by the Hwange magistrates’ court to twelve months in jail, with four months of the sentence being suspended. He is set to serve 8 months in jail.

Mkululi Moyo, aged 48, initially received a one-year sentence from a Hwange magistrate, but four months of the term were suspended conditionally.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) successfully demonstrated that Moyo had written math exams for three students at Hwange High School. Moyo collaborated with an invigilator named Mark Bhebhe in this illicit arrangement, with Bhebhe receiving a payment of US$150. Bhebhe is currently evading authorities.

The court learned that Moyo unlawfully sat for the November 2023 Math paper 2 exam, impersonating Hwange High School students. Moyo filled out answer scripts before the students took the exams. Bhebhe then passed these scripts to the students, who added their personal details before submission.

The  exam fraud was exposed in December when Zimsec examiners noticed inconsistencies between the handwriting in the personal details section and the rest of the answer scripts. Subsequent investigations revealed the students were from Hwange High School.

Upon visiting the school on March 22, the investigating team showed the headmaster the answer scripts. The headmaster identified Moyo’s handwriting, leading to his arrest.
