    Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Four Soldiers Near Kwekwe

    Tragedy struck as four soldiers lost their lives and four others sustained injuries in a devastating road accident near Kwekwe.

    The incident occurred on Tuesday, sending shockwaves throughout the community.

    In a somber statement, Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri expressed profound sorrow over the loss, stating, “It is with deep regret and sadness that I announce the untimely passing of four SOLDIERS  of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, with four others injured, following a tragic road accident near Kwekwe along the Harare — Bulawayo highway on April 16, 2024.”

    “The timing of this tragic event, amidst the nation’s preparations for its 44th independence anniversary, compounds our grief. While our country celebrates, our hearts are heavy with sorrow.”

    “As we mourn the departed, we stand united in grief with His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde Dr E D Mnangagwa, and the entire nation.”

    “May the Almighty provide solace during this challenging time.”

    May Our DEAR Lord comfort you during this difficult moment.

    “I also wish a speedy recovery to those who are in agony and admitted in the hospital. May the dear souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.”

    “Furthermore, we extend our prayers for the swift recovery of those hospitalized and suffering. May the souls of the departed find eternal peace.”
