THE latest dosage of Mai TT’s theatrics dominated the social media spaces last week and made headlines in this newspaper as the Queen of Chaos once again found herself at the heart of conversations across the country.
Her shameless decision to put up a video, in which she appeared to suggest there was nothing shameful about her teenage daughter Fifi’s naked images appearing online, drew considerable condemnation.
This newspaper, in particular, was savage in its treatment of her latest moment of shame and it sparked widespread debate online.
She has since regained her senses and has issued the kind of response which was expected from her in the first place.
She now claims her daughter was being extorted by a boyfriend, who has gone rogue, who then leaked those images onto the internet when Fifi could not pay any more.
“The way you are shocked is the same way I’m shocked because my daughter is the most quiet, intelligent, individual,” she said.
“When I counted my blessings, I count her as well. Never have I ever held a stick to flog her because there was nothing to flog her for.
“She was the best God gave me because everything about her is just perfect.
“There is just a young lady who was in a relationship and trusted her boyfriend, and after breaking up, the guy leaked the pictures.
“I got to find out that she was under threats the whole of last year but never told me about it. She would pay this guy not to release until she couldn’t afford anymore.”
The problem with Mai TT is that she appears to live in a world of fantasy, where everything is a game, and is part of her social media circus, and this has now clouded her judgment to such an extent she did not initially see the shame of having her teenage daughter being naked on social media.
There is no question that her wild behaviour, which she now takes as normal, is now having a profound effect on her children.
The kids clearly now need protection from her madness and, maybe one could ask — can a case be made now where the Department of Social Welfare could put Mai TT’s kids under protective foster care?

Why?
Let’s look at the template, which is provided by the fosterva.org website, and explore why Mai TT’s kids probably deserve protection away from growing up in their mother’s home:
l ABUSE
“Physical abuse, psychological abuse, and sexual abuse are significant reasons for a child to be removed from their family home. Psychological abuse, also known as emotional abuse or verbal abuse, is the most common form of child abuse. It often entails rejection, hostility, bullying, criticism, and exposure to family violence. There are grounds to place a child in foster care if they are repeatedly made to feel worthless, unloved, alone, or frightened by their caregiver. Sexual abuse involves the engagement of sexual acts with a child. It also includes exposing children to sexual materials and sexual behaviour.”
***
l NEGLECT
“A child may be removed from their biological family house by social services and enter the foster care system if their caregiver cannot take measures to look after the child’s health and well-being.”
***
l ADDICTION
“A parent struggling with an addiction (including social media) can significantly impact their ability to take care of their children. It can lead to a greater risk of neglect and abuse. A child may be placed in a foster home.”
***
l WHAT DO THESE CHILDREN NEED?
“These children enter a foster care system designed to help both the parents and the children get their lives back on track. The foster care system is far from perfect, but it responds to all the situations detailed above.”
It appears Mai TT’s wild nature ticks all these boxes.
