    Fifi’s Trial Postponed to June

    Edwin Mhaka

The trial of Edwin Mhaka (19), accused of leaking nude pictures of his ex-girlfriend Felisha Muzeya, was postponed at the Harare Magistrates Court due to the State awaiting a cyber report.

The socialite Mai TT (Felistas Murata) is the daughter of Felisha Muzeya, also referred to as Fifi, whose images were extensively shared on social media. Invoking the necessity for a cyber report on Muzeya’s phone, which was turned over to police on May 2, 2024, prosecutor Nomsa Kangara asked for a postponement of the trial.

Admire Rubaya, Mhaka’s attorney, berated the hold-up and stated that he intended to request Mhaka’s release from detention in the event that more justifications were offered. A new trial date of June 5 was set by the court.

Edwin Mhaka is accused of sending private photos without permission and appears in court before Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo.

The State claims that Muzeya, 18, and Mhaka began dating online in 2020 after meeting on Instagram. After a subsequent in-person meeting, they carried on their romance until an April 2022 breakup brought on by a misunderstanding.

Muzeya occasionally sent Mhaka images of herself in the nude during their relationship. Mhaka apparently threatened to post these pictures on social media following their breakup, which made Muzeya decide to keep her friendship with him.

Mhaka was not happy when Muzeya started dating someone new on March 18, 2023. Then he started messaging her new lover with insulting remarks.

Around nine o’clock on April 7, Muzeya’s sister Tanatswa Mutikani notified her that her photos in her underwear were popular on social media. Muzeya acknowledged ownership of the photos and stated that she had just forwarded them to Mhaka.
