Nembaware sentenced Ndlovu to 13 months in jail and conditionally suspended the sentence to 210 hours of community service.

Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that Brenda Mpala received a call from a man she called her brother at night and her husband suspected her of cheating on him.

A misunderstanding arose before the husband took an axe handle which he used to assault the wife.

In another crime case sometime last week  , magistrate Joshua Nembaware sentenced Dumisani Ngwenya(46)  four years in jail for stealing eight  donkeys.

Nembaware conditionally suspended one year on condition of good behaviour.

The court heard that sometime in August 2022 Ngwenya hatched a plan to steal donkeys from Dombodema grazing lands.

He drove the donkeys to his village where he continued using them as his own.

On March 29, the police pounced on him and recovered the donkeys valued at US$1 600.

    Selestine Madziwa prosecuted.
