Reverend Danisa Muchichwa Arrested for Pointing A Gun At Lover’s Husband

Reverend Danisa Muchichwa Arrested for Pointing A Gun At Lover's Husband

Reverend Danisa Muchichwa from the renowned Manicaland Diocese, stationed at St. Augustine Mission and closely associated with Bishop Eric Ruwona, has been arrested. The arrest stems from allegations that he pointed a firearm at his lover’s husband.

According to information received by The Midweek Watch, the incident unfolded when Lovemore Mandimutsira, the husband of Sylvia Dapira, confronted Rev. Muchichwa after receiving a tip-off about their alleged rendezvous at Mutare Sports Club, located opposite the Anglican Diocese offices on Tuesday morning.

When confronted, the Reverend reportedly drew a pistol, causing Mandimutsira to flee in fear. Rev. Muchichwa pursued him briefly before being apprehended by the police just outside the Sports Club. He is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings.

Sources suggest that this is not the first time Rev. Muchichwa has been involved in such a situation. Three years ago, he was allegedly caught in a compromising position with the same woman by her husband. At that time, Bishop Ruwona intervened, and Rev. Muchichwa reportedly paid a substantial sum of US$10,000 to keep the matter private, as it was deemed damaging to the Church’s reputation, especially amidst corruption allegations.

These recent events add to the challenges faced by the Anglican Church, which has been embroiled in controversies such as a fees dispute that led to protests at St. Faith, one of its prominent schools in the province, with students taking a stand against perceived injustices.
